Since I read The Secret, a few months ago, my life has changed beautifully. However, a lot of people can sometimes get carried away with life’s circumstances and lose focus on what The Magic and The Secret has taught us.
Last week, the inner speakers of my phone stopped working, so I wasn’t able to hear people who called me. Needless to mention how important this phone is to my personal life and most importantly, my career. A couple of days back, my car broke down late at night. Yesterday I lost my parking card and got fined for parking illegal. Today my phone stopped ringing and receiving phone calls completely!
So I stopped for a minute and I thought about the practices I’ve learned from The Magic and that I am performing on daily basis. I thought about how I’m saying “Thank you” without truly being grateful. It had become more of an obligation than a feeling from my heart and obviously that was wrong. So I decided to practice one thing I had not done in a while: To list 10 things I was grateful for in my current situation.
Before I knew it, the list went up to 20 things. I was grateful for all the strangers who stopped for me without asking them to do so to help me when my car broke down. I was grateful for my friend who lent me his parking card to park freely today. I was grateful for my husband because he offered me an alternative phone and so on.
After half an hour from writing this list, I had gotten myself into a truly grateful and positive mood. Without thinking about it, I picked up my phone and made a call. Guess what?! It went back to functioning perfectly!
I was so happy mostly because I felt that I was gaining control over my life again, one incident at a time. And now anytime I feel remotely down, I play any part of The Power on my phone and I change my mood completely.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!
