Front Row At Robbie!

Robbie Williams is my pop star fantasy. I saw him in concert back in 2003. However, I was jammed in the back of the stadium among hundreds of screaming drunk women so I didn’t enjoy it and I could barely catch a glimpse of him, although the atmosphere was electric! I knew that one day he would be back and I wanted to be there front row.
Fast forward to 2015. Robbie is coming back!!! Only to Wellington and Auckland so I booked a cheap flight 3 days prior to ticket release and put it on hold until I knew I could get tickets. Once tickets came on sale I jumped online and was shocked to see the price difference of general admission or reserve stage side tickets was around $100. Knowing that I was already having to pay for flights and accommodation, it wasn’t an option for reserve, so general admission it was. I was disappointed but wanted to go so I just believed that I would get close enough on the night to at least see him in the flesh.
Show night! Lining up at the gate was at least 2000 people in front of us. We got held up at the entrance as there was some problem with somebody in front of us not having the right ticket or something! All the time I’m thinking; hurry up! Now it’s our turn. Tickets, check! Bag, check! Let’s go!
Inside the arena we walk quickly up to the gated area and are directed to the left. We follow the fence and right there in front of us is the end of the stage, the reserved areas were at the side of the stage.
And guess what?!
There were only 4 people standing there, so plenty of room for us! It was the best spot in the house and Robbie was close enough to touch! Amazing!! Front row, center, exactly where I wanted to be!!
And the best thing is I didn’t have to pay the price!
