I’d heard so much talk about The Secret and how it was working for people I knew, that I decided to start selling the book in a small shop I had. We sold each copy and people would come back to me telling me about how it was improving there lives. I was intrigued, but felt I didn’t have time to read it, after all, I was working all hours in my shop, plus I had another part time job in between. I was so tired and yet was getting nowhere, in
fact each month I was getting into more and more debt. I was in a financial mess, I owed bank loans, credit cards, payments on my rent, social security, anything that you could owe on, believe me I owed. But even then it didn’t dawn on me to read The Secret, that seemed to be working for others.

Until one day the shop was quiet and I didn’t have much energy to clean or do much. Instead I picked up a copy of The Secret.

I read it from cover to cover. I then went out and got the video, that I watched over and over. There was a part of me that thought this was all rubbish, how could this possibly work, but another part of me that went back some years where I remember I went through a time where everything I wanted – really wanted – I got.

Well, I thought I would give it a go. I really didn’t have anything to lose. I started with something so simple. I wanted gifts – it was the month of October and I hadn’t had a gift since my birthday in January – I just never got gifts.

I visualised myself receiving a gift. I even imagined it was wrapped in shinning paper. I slowly opened it in my mind. Then I said to myself, “I’m so lucky, this month of October I receive gifts from so many people.”

The next day a friend of mine came to see me. He gave me a plastic bag and inside was a gift, all wrapped up in shining paper. I couldn’t believe it. It was a book I had wanted for awhile. I suddenly remembered the Secret.

The following day an elderly couple I know came into my shop. ‘We bought you a little something,’ they said as they passed me a bag. Inside was a wrapped up gift of some lovely perfume I liked.

From that day on I got gifts each and every day, not always wrapped in paper, but each day brought new gifts. I really couldn’t believe it. I left each gift in the shop for the moment. I ended up with two black bin liners filled with gifts, boots, coats, dresses, shoes, perfume, books, makeup, face creams, all sorts. Not one day went by in October where I didn’t receive a gift.

The first of November the gifts stopped coming on a daily basis. I think this was due to myself, as I had really wanted gifts at the time but now I had lots of them I didn’t keep up the want for them. Since then I have had a few very important gifts I will treasure forever.

Sorry for going on, but the Secret really changed my life. After seeing what it was capable of, I started to use it for my life dreams. I had been fighting for my shop for almost three years, but suddenly one day I started telling myself, ‘I am going for great things in my future, my life will be happy and I will be full of riches and joy.’

Three days later the decision of shutting my shop down was taken out of my hands. Something I had feared and fought against for so long. I suddenly felt wonderful – it was a great day for me as I realised from that moment on I wouldn’t be getting into any more debt.

We are in March now, 5 months after I read The Secret. I feel so in control of my life. I had set up my own business at home (that didn’t cost me one single penny to set up) that is a great success, and I get lots of free time to be with my children. I managed, by using the Secret, to come to agreements with all the people I owe. For the first time in years I can wake up when I please, clean my home, spend time with my children, visit friends, and still work the hours I choose.

In five months my entire life has changed, and I feel happy, and this is just the start. I use the power of the Secret for everything now. From big things to small. A few weeks ago I needed new trainers… the only ones I liked were Reebok black and pink. They were out of my price range as my children also needed new trainers. ‘It’s ok,’ I thought, ‘I will buy the kids theirs and the universe will bring me mine.’

That was on a Tuesday. On the Thursday I went to help a friend in her apartment as she can’t lift her arm, and whilst there she said, “My sister bought me these for Christmas but they don’t fit me. Rather than give them back to her after all this time, I was wondering if you want them.” I opened the box to find a brand new pair of black and pink Reebok trainers, never worn, and my size, the exact ones I had seen in the shop. I thanked my friend and the universe.

I could go on and on about how the Secret is helping me. Because I really did have nothing. And now I seem to have the world.

My next step is to have money and own my home. Will let you know.
