Finding Me.
Submitted by: Tequera Anderson
I am currently a 20 year old junior attending Tennessee State University. I have a passion for sports, cars and houses.
I have truly been touched by this book, The Secret. I bought it two days ago and I already feel changed. The part that really hit me the most is when it states, “How can you ever expect anyone else to enjoy your company if you don’t enjoy your own company?”
My entire life I have done more for others than I have done for myself. I was not knowing that I was demonstrating that I didn’t love myself enough. I often wondered why I was single but now I realize I need to work on myself before I bring anyone else into the picture. There is nothing greater than self-love and I know this now thanks to The Secret. I used to deal with depression a lot throughout my teens but I know my twenties will be different. I also come from a single parent home in which we lacked funds. Money had always been an issue. I always complained about my jobs and how I did not want to live this lifestyle forever.
I printed the check and declared that I will have 100,000 dollars within five years. Thanks to The Secret I have already visualized my new house and my parking garage full of all my cars. I now see things I have never seen before and I am literally in tears.
I must thank Phylis Moore who is my best friend’s mother, as she advised me to read this book. And last but most certainly not least, I thank the writers and all contributors to this book. I would love to meet some of you in person but because I hold The Secret, I have already shaken your hands. I have already hugged and thanked you all for saving my life. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
