Failure To Thrive
I always knew my first born would be a boy.
What I was not prepared for was his being born with a congenital hear defect.
Unfortunately the doctors only found out when he was six months old. Of course I was devastated and then the doctors kept telling us about the risks, because he was very underweight. Friends and family flocked around anxiously, tearfully.
I was lying awake one night and felt this little fellow touch my face reassuringly and his big eyes looking at me full of hope it seemed. We made up our minds right there, that he was going to make it. I imagined his first birthday, his cheeks rounded with good health and kept talking to him about it.
I forbade people to feel sorry for my baby or weep, because he was going to make it.
He was the cheerfulest of babies.
When we took him in, he was the smallest of all the babies. His operation went without any major events. Everytime I went to the ICU, I went and spoke to my sedated baby about the great times we would have. The picture was always on a healthy him.
It worked. The Law of attraction. I did not know it by that name then. I read the book four years ago and realized how LOA has worked for me. I have other stories to tell as well, and will soon.
In 13 days I brought him home. Now he is a 17 year old, aspiring to be a Computer Engineer!
I thank the Universe!
