I had been preparing for a national-level, competitive exam and I am working in an American MNC. It is the job of my dreams, and everything had been happening just the way I  wanted it to. I got a good package and my placement was off-campus. It is so good that I probably couldn’t have got into this company otherwise through college. It visits only a few prestigious Business schools and I was an Engineering grad! People normally need a good amount of work experience in order to get this profile and I got it as a fresher! I always wanted to be very successful, right from the start, at a very young age, and I received that. It was all a gift from the Universe, in response to the desires I had shared. And it was all so spot on!

Since I’m in Supply Chain and our commodity was listed under essentials, our factory had been operating throughout the lockdown. Since I manage the shop floor, I had been going regularly to the plant throughout the year.

I started preparing for the exam in July. Things had been busier as my work hours were a bit unusual. Most days I need to wake up at 4 am, and with online classes running till late in the night, I don’t get enough sleep. The time I have after work, I invest in preparing for my exam. I would study even during my commute.

Now, the coaching I was enrolled in had this really important 3 hour session on a Sunday. This was an annual session and it had to be attended live. Failing to attend it was a great opportunity missed!

As luck would have it, it was a working Sunday for me. However, I was positive that I would get sufficient time to attend it smoothly, even at work. I had no doubts or negative thoughts or feelings about it.

However, the moment I got to the plant, there was a major breakdown and we immediately got to work. There was no one else to manage the shift that day and the entire responsibility was on my shoulders. I miserably failed to attend the session and I felt hopeless. I even felt angry when I thought about how I had been so positive and I felt so good, that things should not have possibly gone downhill for me! It was a very important session that I had missed that could cost me a good score.

Then there was another such session on a different subject. Again, it was on a Sunday that I happened to be working. And this time too, I totally missed it due to a breakdown, again!

I was so mad! It was so difficult to focus on work that day. I tried asking for a recording but they said it was not possible. Since it was a big session with thousands of participants all over India, it felt foolish to even ask them to conduct it again. I did not even try asking them.

But then I geared up. I put myself together and thought, no loss can come to me, ever. If I missed these sessions, the Universe will provide for me. And I didn’t give it a thought after that. I went on with my preparation. I, in fact, kind of even forgot about it. I had decided not to think about it as it made me feel bad and would just lower my frequency for receiving. From then on, whenever there was a situation that lowered my energy, I would affirm that something wonderful was about to come out of it. And it always does.

In less than a month, the coaching company decided to conduct the sessions again! Just out of the blue! It was so unbelievable! It turned out that many people had contacted them, perhaps since they too were not able to attend. Owing to the high demand, they decided to conduct it again.

This time, very vigilantly, I applied for leave on the days the sessions were to be conducted. I decided to stay home to get the most out of it.

As I said, the Universe always provides. The Secret is to ask, believe, and receive. That and gratitude, even before you get what you want, are the most powerful tools one can have. It all goes a long way. I have always maintained a Gratitude Journal and I write 10 things down that I am grateful for every night. And 99% of the things that have I penned down, I have attracted into my life. It is that powerful.
