I came to know about The Secret and read 3 of the books and How The Secret Changed My Life during the 2020 lockdown. Before the lockdown, I was a school consultant but as the lockdown started, I had to discontinue the project. I was very disappointed and confused about what to do as now no other school or business would give me a project because of the pandemic struggle. For 2 months I completely immersed myself in personal growth, reading books, and chilling out.

Suddenly overnight, I had the courage and determination to start my dream venture in the education sector by bringing holistic learning to an online platform and into the lives of teenagers. I started in July 2020 and within 6 to 7 months, I was able to make a good reach.

In February 2021, I applied for an international business competition. Among 1000 applications, we made it to the top 500. After rounds and rounds of pitching, we made it to the top 25. Hurray!! We were among the top 25 startups in South Asia within 6 months of our operations and it was huge!! My parents were super proud, my boyfriend, now fiancé, was super supportive during each round of pitch and he was with me each time. I was on cloud 9.

Though we didn’t win the competition we were titled as Best International Entrepreneur in South Asia. I was super happy.

Then, in March, my boyfriend’s birthday was coming up. I planned a massive surprise for him. I booked a helicopter for him using my savings to fly him to a nearby place called Gosaikunda. It has beautiful snowcapped mountains, a frozen lake, and so much natural beauty. As I was planning and making bookings, a lot of trouble was coming but I just let it go.

We went on his birthday to the helipad and the helicopter didn’t fly because of the weather. We rescheduled our flight to March 8. My boyfriend now was aware of my surprise. On March 8, after 4 hours of delay due to unknown reasons, finally we flew.

My boyfriend, in order to surprise me, proposed to me on the top of the snow capped mountain! We had a photographer with us luckily who captured the most beautiful moments of our day. It was the best proposal anyone could ask for. While I was reading The Secret, a year ago, I had imagined the same proposal but hadn’t told anyone about it. I dreamt, visualized, and let it go. Just imagine getting proposed to on the top of a mountain with a frozen lake in the background and your life partner on his knees with a ring and an adventure photographer clicking photos. What else could anyone ask for?

The same day I got my dream proposal, I was awarded by the Vice President of Nepal in an event under the category “IT and Innovation”. My parents, grandfather, and fiancé all were present to witness it and they were super proud. It was the best day of my life.

The Secret actually works. I visualized all of this, let it go and it came to me on its own.
