Dream Job Come True.
Submitted by: Johnny
Westlake Village, CAI am from a middle-class family in the small Southern California town of Simi Valley. I received my Finance degree from Cal State Northridge.
For two years after college, I gave up on the idea that I was able to get my dream job of being a Financial Analyst. I’ve always had a passion for numbers, but everyone kept telling me that it’s hard to get that job because of the economy. In my mind, I made it impossible and I eventually gave up on it and lost my motivation. I settled for a job that I just fell into and became a robot for two years. Waking up, going to work, going to the gym, going to sleep. My brain was on autopilot.
In November, something clawed at my subconscious. There has to be more to life than this. I suddenly remembered watching the movie The Secret a few years back. I liked it but never stuck with it. When I watched it again on Netflix, something clicked. It felt as if I knew The Secret all along, and I woke up from a dream that had become my life.
I decided to act. Every night before bed, I would watch The Secret on Netflix, feel the feelings of prosperity, the job I wanted, the gratitude I felt when I received it, and then I would fall asleep to that feeling. For three weeks, I trained my brain to reverse everything I had ever been taught. Like everyone else, I was brought up with the infamous “I can’t afford that right now” mentality and pushed that out of my mind completely.
All the “can’ts” got replaced with “can” and all the “I’m nots” were replaced with “I am.” Every time I felt jealousy, hopelessness, scarcity, sadness, or desperation, I would replace that with gratitude and prosperity with what I have and with what I had asked for.
At the beginning of December, I still was not seeing any results, so I decided to be more specific. I decided to see myself in a white Tesla driving down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and to be a Financial Analyst by the New Year.
It worked!
The next day, I literally got a call from a reputable company in Beverly Hills for a Financial Analyst position that I did not even apply for. In a nutshell, I had an interview scheduled that week and just got a job offer a few days after that for 37% more than what I was making before. I started on Monday, December 30th.
I have no doubt in my mind that my white Tesla is not far behind as I start my journey down my dream career path, and for that, I am thankful.
As Yoda once told Luke when he was being stubborn
“Always with you it cannot be done. You must unlearn what you have learned. Try not, do or do not, there is no try. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. It’s energy surrounds us. And binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you.”
