5 years ago I saw a friend making a dream board and I thought it was a great idea!

I never really believed in the law of attraction until I watched and read The Secret.

My whole mind set was turned around I believed I could have, do or succeed in anything!

In our smallish town of Prince George we have a hospice dream home lottery. I was determined that the house was mine.

I told everyone I was going to win. I had a couple of close friends so convinced they didn’t even buy tickets! I had bought a bunk bed and refused to set it up because I didn’t want to set it up until we moved.

On the day of the draw was my last day of work since I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter! My mom texts me in the afternoon saying today is the day you win your house, so besides being my last day of work we carried on as usual.

8 pm came and went. That was the draw time. I was feeling a bit anxious but happy.

The phone rang closer to 9 pm. I answered so quickly I didn’t even notice the call display number. I answered, they said: Andrea Cake?

And my heart melted! I was speechless and crying, they hadn’t even told me I won the dream home yet. He said “Do you know who this is?”. I gasped “The hospice society?”

He then asked me if I would like to come see my brand new dream home!

My boyfriend was grabbing some stuff out of the truck when he came into the house, he thought I was in labor. My year old son was was looking at me like I was crazy and I definitely was acting crazy!

After I had the chance to calm down we drove down to see our dream home!

We have lived here for over a year and love it every day!
