I started reading the “The Magic”. I share my stories daily with people near and far about the power of gratitude since being introduced to The Secret by my wonderful friend Tiff. Let me just use this medium to say if you haven’t gotten a taste of the book, see it as an investment to reap magical things.

The Day 18th topic of The Magic was “The Magical To-Do List”. It was outlined to make a list of things that you need to do. Or maybe if you lost something and haven’t been able to locate it. So the book stated to imagine how you would actually feel finding whatever it is. I immediately began to see myself finding a lost debit card and saying thank you.

So I made my list and the first item I listed was to find my debit card that I had been looking for, for ages. I had been cleaning my bedroom, scrapped the other bedrooms, entertainment room, garage, you name it, for weeks turning into months. I emptied drawers and cupboards and no card was found. So as I made my to-do list. I said to myself “This is going to be magical to see this card found”.

I didn’t do anything extra-ordinary; I ate breakfast, chatted with my cousin, played games and the whole works. As I sat before my PC to do something, a voice said “Get up and find the debit card”. Whilst walking to the unknown, I began to feel so grateful that I found the card and even said to myself in my Jamaican creole “If mi eva find dis card, dis is going to be too magical” . I was led to some drawers and keep in mind, those drawers had been searched time after time, emptied and things discarded like a million times before.  I pulled out the drawer not thinking to look into it, so I kept looking under it and beside it. Then, I pulled out a postcard I bought in January that I had planned to throw away a million times because I didn’t really care for the card. As I opened the card it said “Peekaboo” and “I am here”, was displayed on the card. I could not believe my eyes. There was the card! I was just saying “Thank you, thank you a million times because this was The Magic through gratitude.
