I want to tell you all about this rather heartwarming surprise I just received from the Universe.

It is the Diwali season here in India now. Gifting each other all kinds of sweets and goodies is a tradition of sorts. It is like spreading the Diwali cheer. Even in offices, employees are given all kinds of gifts by the heads and bosses.

Just yesterday, I was sort of lamenting to my friend at work that it is sad that we don’t get any kind of Diwali gifts from our seniors. I work for a media house and my company is rather strict and does not indulge in any kind of gifting or warming up to the employees. It is all work, work, most of the time. So, I just thought that it would be nice to receive some sort of token of love or appreciation from our bosses. My heart just loved the idea of it, fancied it, wished for it and then forgot about it.

Well, this evening I walked into the office feeling rather hungry and craving a snack. After working at my desk for some time, I was getting ready to go to the canteen to eat something. Just then, my colleague announced we were to collect our Diwali treats!

I was like, what?! I went and saw there was a whole basket full of samosas, an Indian snack of fried pastry with a savory filling of spiced potatoes, onions, peas and lentils. Damn tasty and one of my favorites! I was so happy, touched and overwhelmed! I gorged on 4 samosas happily and had a great time with my friends.

What I wanna highlight is that this was a very small thing, just some samosas. But it was the happy fulfillment of a desire, that I want to focus on. The Universe took note of my tiny desire, even though I did not consciously send out an ‘I-Want-This’ signal.

We never get any kinda treats in the office. But we did. This time. Later, I found out that the samosas were not bought for us initially. They were given to some other department and they had so much, that they shared them with my department.

So you see how the Universe finds its own way to bring us just what we want, at the right moment.

Thank you Universe. Thank you. It is the little things like this that touch my heart and make me feel even more grateful.
