Climbing Out Of The Abyss.

Mumbai, IndiaI am a 25 year old man. I have a B.E. in Computer Science and an M.Sc. in Physics. I enjoy reading novels and non-fiction books and articles. I enjoy cooking and absolutely love food. I am also fond of dogs and consider them, along with books, as my best friends.
In 2019, I was working in an organization in the IT industry. While I did enjoy programming, the industry had sucked all the joy from it. I felt stuck in the industry. With a Computer Science degree, I could only look for jobs in the same industry. I also had only a year of experience.
My personal life was not doing so well either. I had no friends and very few acquaintances. I felt isolated and lonely all the time and took to smoking cigarettes.
I had hit a low when my job performance also suffered and I was offered a lower pay hike compared to my colleagues. I desperately wanted to change my life.
At this time, I remembered The Secret. I had read it while I was in the 12th standard and it had helped me a great deal when I was competing for a good Engineering college. I read the book again and started a gratitude list. I read the list every day, 3 or 4 times. I focused on a change in my career.
In August, I talked to my uncle who told me that 2 months was more than enough time to do the preparation for the CAT exam for an MBA. I read about the courses I could take and found a great one in IMS tuition that was about to begin. After finding out the fees and dates for the tuition, I put in my resignation and left the company in September. I had two months for the exam but I remained positive. I wrote a gratitude list daily and kept believing that I already had completed the exam and I had done a fantastic job.
It worked! Today I study in an IIM. I am working with great colleagues and learning from amazing faculty.
Thank you to The Secret team and Rhonda Byrne.
