January 1, 2007 began as any other year, wishful hopes for a peaceful, financial worry-free year. But 2007 began to spiral out of control almost immediately with unexpected bills, family conflict and a wedding to plan for my daughter. Her father and I have been divorced for 12 years, and planning the wedding with him took its toll mentally, physically, and financially on me and my husband. The wedding expenses spiraled out of control, and I had to finance my portion of it, which lead to more stress, more depression, and feelings of hopelessness.

The wedding did take place without a hitch, and it was beautiful, but took a heavy hit on my emotions and finances.

One week after the wedding I received a letter from my ex-husband’s attorney. It appeared there was a discrepancy in the martial property agreement and we would be going back to court. The year spiraled downward, as did my finances and increased stress caused by harassing calls from my ex-husband and the impending court case.

In October my husband and I were flipping through the Pay For View on cable looking for a movie to rent. We watched a preview for The Secret, were intrigued, and rented it. That was a pivotal moment for us. I decided to put The Secret into play in my life.

I applied for and was granted a restraining order against my ex-husband, and I signed off on the property settlement discrepancy – the fight over the money was not worth the emotional cost and negativity it was bringing into my life. I started therapy to deal with the damage my first marriage caused, and my life began to be more joyful.

For Christmas my husband gave me The Secret CDs, and two weeks ago we agreed to work really hard to put into motion the path to The Secret. I decided to start with “receiving checks in the mail” every day. Within a few days checks began coming in the mail. However none of these checks were for me, they were for my daughters, my son, our martial art’s school, seemed like for everybody in this world but for me!! I decided I needed to try harder putting my message out to the universe, and concentrated especially hard last week. On Thursday I received 500 checks in 2 boxes addressed to ME. I called my husband and we really had a good laugh. The 500 checks were new checks I had ordered over a month ago for our bank account. However, checks for me did arrive in the mail! The Secret is working, checks are coming in the mail.

However, my husband thinks I need to be more specific with my request for “receiving checks in the mail”…

We want a lot of checks in the mail written to me to help pay for my son’s upcoming Ordination as a Priest this coming May! I see checks in the mail, I see them written to me. I have faith the money will come to us for this momentous event in my son’s life.

Since watching the movie and listening to the CDs, The Secret has helped me let go of baggage I have been carrying around. My husband and I are more joyful, more loving, have a deeper faith and hope.

We owe it all to The Secret. This will be a great year!!
