In April 2018 I applied for my dream job, the medical director of the health center of a prestigious college. I was excited as I felt from deep within that the job was already mine. In June 2018 I got a letter saying that the college had chosen their interview candidates and I was not one of them. I later learned through a friend of mine that the position was dissolved altogether. However, I still felt like the director position was mine, even though the position no longer existed.

In August 2018 a provider position opened up at the same college clinic, it was instead of a director position. My friend was the current provider and was leaving. She asked if I was interested and asked for my CV. I was interviewed within two weeks and I was offered the job four days after the interview.

I am currently the new provider and I absolutely love my job!!  And guess what?! Shortly after I had started, I learned that the director position will open again in the spring of next year and that I am positioned to be “first in line” for the job!!! Isn’t that amazing?!?!
