Blue Feathers and Ladybug Purses
I broke up with my last boyfriend in December of 2012. I knew at that time he wasn’t the one for me and I was ready to move on.
At the end of January 2013, I wrote down all the qualities I wanted in my ‘dream boyfriend’ and also wrote that I would meet him before the end of February 2013. I read through the qualities I wrote each day and felt grateful for them.
On Valentine’s Day, he came into my life. I actually knew him from before. We met casually in June 2012 but my ex-boyfriend and I had just got back together and I told him I wasn’t single anymore. He told me to call him if that changes. I forgot all about him and even deleted his number from cell phone. When he texted me on Valentine’s Day, I didn’t know who it was until I asked his name.
I decided it was too much of a coincidence and I had to go out with him. We dated for one month and he seemed to have many of the qualities I was looking for in my ‘dream boyfriend’ but then he started drifting away. I hardly heard from him, fewer and fewer texts and phone calls came in and it was hard to plan a date with him.
I was disappointed but something kept telling me he is the one I asked for. So I asked for a sign. I said if he is my dream boyfriend please send me a blue feather and if he is not, send me a pink feather. Two days later, my aunt came over and gave me a beautiful black skirt. All around the skirt were lovely feathers embroidered all around and on the front was the only blue feather. I still wasn’t convinced. A week later I asked for another sign. I asked to see a ladybug if he is my ‘dream boyfriend’. I thought this would be more unusual since it is still winter in Canada and there are few insects outside. The next day I went out window shopping at lunch and walked into one of my favourite stores to look around. I went over to the section with the purses and the first thing that caught my eye was a bright red purse shaped like a ladybug! That’s not all, as I walked away stunned from the ladybug purse, I started looking at some beaded earrings and soon realized they were in the shape of blue peacock feathers. I was amazed.
Two weeks later, he came around. He is contacting me regularly and we see each other often. I am certain now he is my ‘dream boyfriend’.
