It was July 2014, I was at the Gold Coast Marathon watching it as a spectator. I thought to myself that would be an amazing thing for me to do, run a marathon as a blind runner. But as thoughts popped in my head saying I couldn’t make it as I’m blind, I started to believe it, so I ignored my positive idea of running in it.
Four months passed by. I was looking through my cupboard and found The Secret. I still have a small amount of sight left and I decided to read it.
After reading it I decided to get myself motivated enough to train the last 6 months before the marathon and make my dream happen and become a reality. If we believe, we must receive!
It was July 2015. I was there at the start line of the Gold Coast half marathon getting ready to run 21 km while being almost blind! The gun went off and there I was running. I hit the half way mark feeling tired and exhausted but I kept running. By the 18 km mark I felt like giving up, but I didn’t. I kept running till I got over that finish line 21 km later! Guess what, yes, I made it!
I had finished the marathon so happy and relieved to have made it! All I was thinking was that I finished and thanks to The Secret for the opportunity to give me that self belief I could do it.
