Anyone learning to drive will make mistakes but whenever I messed up during driving lessons, I was so harsh on myself. I would come home and cry from the pressure I had put on myself and the fear of failing my driving test.

I generally have an attitude that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. But from the outset of learning to drive, some of my experiences had conditioned me to believe that I was a nervous driver, and that I really didn’t know how I was going to pass. So naturally, my driving during lessons matched the beliefs I had.

I got better, but driving still gave me so much anxiety. When it was getting close to my first test, I began planning how to use the law of attraction to get what I wanted. I held my provisional driving license and imagined how amazing and empowered I would feel holding my full license. I pictured the examiner telling me that I had passed, felt the happiness of telling everyone around me that I had passed the first time. I listened to meditation and affirmation videos about driving confidence every night, and as I went to bed I really felt the confidence as though I had already passed my test.

After I did this, my driving got inexplicably better. I began to drive as though I had already passed. I felt so calm on the road, any mistakes I made were very minor and I no longer beat myself up over them. I was still so nervous about my test, but every time I felt the anxiety bubbling up, I would ask myself, why was I nervous if I had already passed my test? And then it would replace the feeling with confidence and pride that I had passed my test the first time.

On test day I felt the nerves but I stayed confident. I told myself I was just going for a normal drive and to do everything as I usually would. I told myself how kind my examiner was and how I knew the route he was taking me on inside out. And this is exactly what happened!

Exactly as I had pictured it, my examiner was very reassuring and talkative, the route he took me on was the one I’d practiced dozens of times, and the test was over before I knew it! And as I knew would happen, the examiner told me I had passed and I felt the exact wave of happiness that I’d pictured! I knew that everything had aligned to help me pass my driving test the first time. I felt so, so free, and now I know that I can do absolutely anything I put my mind to! Thank you!
