I just finished The Secret this morning. While reading it, I discovered that I’ve been using it for years without realizing it. My first realized manifestation of The Secret was on the day after Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday). I had only one place on my list to brave, a bookstore. So, I went and stood in line for about 15 minutes while waiting for it to open. The deal was that the first 100 people through the door got a free bag. Out of those 100 people, 1 would receive a $200 gift card. I’d had it in my mind that I would win that card 2 weeks earlier, when I first learned about the promotion. The store opened, we all shambled in from the cold and looked in our bags. I didn’t see anything special, so I went to sell back the two books I brought in. We found a warranty slip that I’d been looking for, which I put into my bag. I also took that time to really look through my bag, and found a piece of paper folded in half. I pulled it out and read it. “Congratulations! You’re our lucky winner.” I was shocked and so happy, I started shaking. I now have that slip of paper posted on my wall to remind me what The Secret can do.
