This is my story in a nut shell:

Back in 2010 on the 11th day of June, tragedy struck. My three year old brother died. He was run over by a van. Unfortunately, I was the driver.

June 11th is also my boyfriend’s birthday. The pain, guilt, shame, and misery were too much for him to handle so he left me and started a new relationship.

This was a double whammy of loss and my life shattered and became tainted. I refused to see the beauty in life and I turned to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain.

I managed to get my boyfriend back six months after the death of my brother, however, I was still holding onto the pain and he left me for good on March 12th, 2012. Or so he thinks.

Now that I’ve read The Secret, The Power, and Hero (I have still have yet to read The Magic because I know I have it in me) my life flipped a complete one-eighty. No more running in circles. No more taking one step forward and two steps back.

I decided to check myself into rehab for treatment to start my healing journey on March 12th, 2013. Three hundred and sixty-five days after the break-up. I managed to stay sober for eight months, however, I didn’t deal with my past issues like I am now and “fell off the wagon” around the time of our anniversary, November 21st.

All along I’ve had the power within to find my own happiness. Before tragedy struck I was everything you can possibly imagine that is good: vibrant, resilient, positive, and charismatic. These books helped me to regain my power.

I am back on track. As a Native American I follow the principles of the books and apply them to my culture and tradition. They work perfectly together. They say we are the Quantum Physicists of spirituality and I’m currently in the process of getting my boyfriend back. I believe he will come back because it already feels like he’s right by my side.

I have a vision to make my community a better place by applying these principles to my life. Watch out world. Saddle Lake is on the rise.
