Back To School With The Secret.
Submitted by: Lizzy
Grateful follower of The Secret for two years. Wife, mother, creative junky. This is my second posted story, the first being empowered by The Magic which got me my dream job. My gratitude to Ms. Rhonda Byrne and all of you who journey with me on this site with your encouraging posts I read daily.
My family and I have been plugging along, trying to get our financial health up to snuff. Something wasn’t clicking for me and I was suffering from anxiety about our financial situation. The more I worried, the worse things got. The more I focused on money in this way, the more I had to deal with it.
Finally, I returned to The Secret basic practice of daily gratitude as well as focusing on the feeling of being at peace with money and letting the universe take care of it.
I saw an ad for a local back to school event for families. At the event, school supplies, which we need for 3 kids, were to be given out with a chance at winning a used family car.
I was stressing to my spouse that we need to attend this event and bought tickets as soon as we could. I hoped it would be a minivan, and it was! The kids were excited by the idea of a minivan and we all pretended we would win it. At the event, we got the school supplies and decided not to wait for the van drawing because it was much later. We went home and ate lunch and I decided to return to the event for the drawing so I could “pick up our van.”
First they drew for small door prizes. My son had said he wanted a watch that day and guess what?
In a door prize was a watch!
My daughter’s name was called for this drawing out of 500+ tickets!. I was content with this, it was fun to see her light up when her name was called and she ‘traded’ a balloon animal for the watch with my son and they were both happy.
But then was the drawing for the van and you had to be present to win.
The very first name they called was my son’s name and we all jumped for joy!
Now we are headed back to school with a comfortable ride and much gratitude for the power of The Secret.
But the universe wasn’t done with us that day. Out of the blue, an old friend called and said that he had tickets to a music festival for free, and could we come? My parents were in town and were happy to babysit our kids so we could go to the music fest and catch up.
As the sun went down and the lights to the festival went up, I couldn’t help but thank the universe for taking care of us so perfectly and feeling so grateful!!!
