A couple of months ago my car started to have some problems, it was really old and it seemed like every day some new problems came out. I talked with my parents about buying a new car but they told me that it wasn’t the right moment so we will just fix the car.

In the meantime I saw this beautiful car, the Fiat 500. I especially loved the red one, and every time I saw it I told myself how beautiful it was. Sometimes, while I was driving to work, I imagined I was driving the new one and I felt good.

Right after Christmas my old car broke again but this time I didn’t ask for a new one, instead I “talked” with my old car. I told her things like “Thank you for take me around for all these years”.

A couple of days later I was at home and I said to my dad to try driving my car, so maybe he could realize that it wasn’t so good anymore. He tried to drive the car and he told me to take his car for the night.

The day after, when I woke up, my parents told me that they went to the car shop and they bought the new car, the same car that I loved, and the same color! The car arrived 7 days later and it’s amazing! I love it! I also gave her a name, I call her Aria.

When I think about this story, what really hit me was that I let go. I thought about my dream car for a few minutes a day and then I let go. Letting go isn’t so easy for me, not when I really care about something, but I’m learning. I know I can do it and so do you!
