After going through a tough divorce, I had to leave my home and move back in with my mum until I had the strength and money to buy my own place. I had been with my husband for 19 years since I was 18 years old. I thought my world was ending.

I was heartbroken and at rock bottom. I needed to stay strong for my beautiful daughter as her world was also turned upside down overnight. I was suffering anxiety and panic attacks. I had no clue where my life was going. I was lost and did not know where to start. Then a dear friend of mine told me about the book, The Secret.

I’m not going to lie, I picked it up day after day and I would read a page but nothing would sink in so I put it back in the cupboard. During this time I was made redundant from a job that I had loved for 20 years. I lost faith in everything. I felt sorry for myself and defeated.

I watched my friend who had told me about The Secret, change her life. She got stronger and stronger and she was living proof of what could happen when you put The Secret into practice. So I decided to download The Secret Daily Teachings app. Something clicked. The daily quotes resonated with me. I started to practice this daily. I decided to pick the book back up and this time I finished it over two days. I couldn’t put it down!

It inspired me to make a vision board, set goals and change my thoughts. I changed my thoughts and looked for positives in everything, I applied it to my everyday life. I had hope for the future.

Little by little, things started to happen. I noticed small things at first, and it all started to come together. I joined the gym, I started looking after myself, mind and body. I had a different outlook on life. My daughter was also struggling. Her dad had a new family and she had a step mum that she had to deal with. So I bought her the teen version, The Secret To Teen Power. She loved it too. This brought us closer together. We made vision boards together, shared quotes, and helped each other.

Then I was headhunted for a job I really wanted. My daughter passed her exams, and my health improved. I wrote myself out The Secret Check and my finances improved.

Eventually, the one thing  I longed for after 3 years of being single was to find my soul mate. I wrote in my journal all the qualities my new partner would have and how he would make me feel.

I was at work on Christmas Eve and a man came in. We chatted and he left. I instantly felt that he would come into my life again. The next month while I was at work, I looked up, and there he was! We chatted and he left but I said to my colleagues that something is telling me he will feature in my life. Then the phone rang and it was him! He felt a connection to me as well and asked me out on a date.

Now, 2 years later we have moved into the apartment I had imagined! My daughter loves him, his family loves me like their own daughter and they are everything that I had hoped for too. I am so grateful for everything in my life right now! I practice gratitude every day. “Change your thoughts, change your life.” It worked for me. Thank you so much!
