So I came across The Secret, glad that I came across this treasure so early in my life. So what are the problems of an adolescent? The looks, the girl… Yes, not such serious problems, but we are meant to use the Secret as the key to life, as the solution to anything that bothers us…

I was 14 and I had never had a girlfriend, and I had always hated my appearance, always carrying that extra fat, the glasses… I had fallen for my best friend, who didn’t know anything and always came to me for advice for her relationship. The best aspect in my life though, was my friends.

After reading The Secret I kept going on with my ordinary life, until one day I decided to take charge of my life and control it. I kept thinking that all I ever wanted was already mine… The girl, the looks, the good relationship with my parents…

Nothing happened the first day, nor the second, but that’s where our faith shouldn’t be shattered. A week after that day, my ‘best friend’ broke up with her boyfriend. So I realised that the Secret was talking to me. I took advantage of that and told her how I felt. Her response was surprising to me. She said she liked me too… After that, more and more girls started checking me out and I felt ensured about my appearance and my self-esteem started getting high. When I made a relationship with my friend, my parents, who I always considered wouldn’t appreciate that, took it fairly well.

Now I realise that life is all about being positive. Did my appearance change? Did she, or I change? Did my parents change? Yes, but only because I wanted it. It was all because of my positive thinking. I love my life now and I am committed to keeping it this way.
