Answered Right Away
Firstly, I would like to thank Rhonda for introducing the three books to me, and changing my life.
My story has two parts, both regarding work.
So after graduating from college in the States, I returned to my home in Taiwan, thinking that I’d be able to find a marketing job right away. Well apparently it wasn’t what I thought. Being a “foreigner” here (I’m of Taiwanese origin but hold a US passport), there are numerous random restrictions for companies to hire me, therefore companies usually just avoid doing so. And guess what? I couldn’t find a job, surprise!
Luckily, my dad is the general manager of a financial company here, so he was able to just put me in here. Well, finance isn’t my field at all, and I never wanted to rely on my dad at all. But I didn’t have any other choice. I’m going to apply for MBA soon and I need work experience, so I accepted my dad’s arrangement.
I knew from reading The Secret that whatever I do, I’ll have to at least try to love my job. The first week was as boring as ever. I couldn’t understand much, and did not have much to do.
So I was sitting at my desk, feeling rather frustrated. I asked in my head “How the XXXX am I suppose to love a job like this!?”
An hour later, my supervisor came to me and asked me to go to his office for a conversation. There, he showed me some charts and just randomly explained some basic concepts to me and also answered some of my questions.
It was actually interesting!
I came back to my desk, sat down, and suddenly realized that that was the answer!
I’m only on my second week for now, I’m still trying to figure this industry out, but now I know where to start.
Thank you, universe, for answering my question!
