We met online. I had never tried online dating before and I must admit, I had a lot of negative thoughts about it. I realize now that I was letting past experiences and stories about catfishing influence my perception of online dating.

In January, we started talking, but it was just exchanging pleasantries at first. After three months, we began sharing our family histories, future goals, and dreams. We started to develop feelings for each other. Eventually, we met in person.

I was afraid he wouldn’t live up to my expectations. When he visited me, he seemed more interested in the beach and environmental factors, which hurt me. I questioned how I could have fallen for him.

Six months later, I found out I was expecting. I was in disbelief and we weren’t together, so I had to shift my feelings and let go of negativity, relying on God to guide me through.

I am grateful for The Power by Rhonda Byrne. I began focusing on the positives and giving thanks for his support during a challenging time. I recalled his words of encouragement, the thoughtful gestures, and the insight he provided.

As I expressed gratitude, things began to change. He altered his attitude and we decided to be loving parents, friends, and partners. Now, we are happily married and blessed with a blended family.

Expressing gratitude opened the door to amazing gifts. My husband often tells me, “I can’t imagine my life without you and the kids.” Changing my thoughts truly changed my life.
