Miami, FLA woman on a journey of creating the life that she loves. I love to read, learn and to be out in nature, especially near water.
Ever since I was a little girl I have had an affinity for Hawaii. Every time I think of Hawaii, I think the band, The Beach Boys or Full House. Well the Tanners went on vacation one year and that was when I fell in love. Not to mention many years later the Kyle’s (my wife and kids ) went on their own adventure to the islands. I had always wanted to go but had no real plans, just the thought. One day I found a workshop being held by a company whom I had regularly purchased books from. A couple of my favorite authors would be in attendance. So I set out the intention of going since it was a couple of months away. I looked at the price of airfare and hotel. No real plans again.
Days or weeks later I got the inkling to go back on the site and see if there were volunteer opportunities available for the workshop. I had previously, 4 months earlier, been able to attend a workshop for free by volunteering. To my surprise there was such a thing with the Hawaii workshop ! So I submitted the request to be a volunteer but very soon afterwards was sent an email stating that they had enough volunteers. Usually I would have been heartbroken but by me having had worked on being positive, it was just a minor set back to me. I kept up the faith that something would happen.
While shopping I ended up in the air freshener section. My intention was to purchase a sea breeze scent since I love the water and I wanted to attract my dream trip to Santorini, Greece, but the Hawaiian Breeze caught my eye. Mind you, since I was in the 7th grade I loved that scent because my favorite teacher, Mrs. Cook, had a Plug-in of that very scent. This was nearly 20 years ago. So that was all the more reason to purchase it. Needless to say, I saw signs everywhere of Hawaii.
One week before the workshop, I received an email from the company saying that they would love to have my help! Since it was considered last minute, all my accommodations were paid for!!! I even got to swim with the dolphins with one of my favorite authors!
This works people! Never give up, keep going until you get exactly what you want. Don’t settle!
