I was introduced to The Secret about three and a half years ago by a gentleman who just approached me in a restaurant and asked, “Do you know about The Secret?” Since I had not heard about it, I looked it up, told my friend about it, and she immediately bought the book. After she read it she gifted it to me as it wasn’t something she was ready to hear just yet I guess.

In the next few months I tried to wrap my mind around the concept of thinking what you want into existence, but nothing really came of it and until the beginning of 2010 I kind of forgot about it.

In December of 2009, I wrote out a list of goals that I wanted to achieve for 2010, including losing some weight, getting a tattoo I have wanted for over a year, going to see a music artist in concert, obtaining a gun license, moving to NYC, being accepted into an interior design school, having more friends and social interactions, and visiting Las Vegas for the first time. I proclaimed that 2010 would be my year to really start living my life and enjoying myself!

To make a long story short, I picked The Secret book back up and began reading it again. This helped me to remember that I am a magnet and will attract what I put out to the Universe. So I began to think, act, and speak only positive things. I created a vision board of what I wanted my life to look like as well.

In January, I attracted an exercise partner and my tattoo. In February, I saw the music artist in concert. By March I had formed better bonds with a few friends I already had, and old friends began to resurface. Then a friend out of the blue loaned me a copy of an Abraham-Hicks (Abraham is a group that speaks on the LOA) seminar on audio CD saying she thinks I will appreciate listening to it. I absolutely LOVED it! I realized that I had attracted another means to help make my desires manifest, so I basically made it a top priority after that to feel good no matter what was happening around me.

Today I live in NYC, have been accepted into my DREAM school for interior design, I have more social interactions with friends and family, and for my birthday next month my friend has paid my flight and hotel for a trip to LAS VEGAS!!! I am soooo happy and blessed to know that I am a powerful creator of my life and my happiness!

The Secret was the beginning for me. Now I don’t worry about what will happen in my life, because I KNOW it will be filled with what I focus on and I only focus on the positive!
