I want to sincerely thank Rhonda Byrne and her daughter for sharing The Secret. I also want to thank The Secret team and the day I had picked The Secret book from of my book shelf.

The story is quite prolonged but it’s one that’s worth it to read it!

Ironically, The Secret had always been in my open sight for years. We had an enormous bookshelf in our office room that held a lot of novels, work folders, and religious books. In the midst of it all, was the book called The Secret.

When I was 8, I had been intrigued by the title and decided to take a peek inside the book. I had started reading the book, till page 4, when I realized that The Secret wasn’t some magical fairy that granted all your wishes. It was the “law of attraction.” At that point in my life, I was really not compelled by that answer to what The Secret was. I had put the book back onto the shelf and went on with my life.

In a couple of years, when I was 12, I noticed The Secret again. I remembered vague memories of it and had plucked the book off the shelf. I started reading it and I had such a better understanding of it. I sat there the whole time in my bed till I finished that book. I was bursting with joy and splendor when I had completed it. I had imagined all the things I could apply it to in my life.

Some more years passed by, and I am currently in 9th grade. I had just moved to Texas and am attending a good school in my area. My parents, as always, want the best for me so they wanted me to try out for this magnet school called Carnegie Vanguard, the #23 ranked school in the nation. I went there to take my CogAT test, my IOWA test, and my parents had filled out everything.

I had waited for my results, visualizing my acceptance letter and how ecstatic I would be. After two months, my letter from Carnegie Vanguard high school had arrived. I opened the letter and it said that I had been qualified!!

My IOWA test scores were amazing. I had been in the 99th percentile for math and 94th percentile for reading. My CogAt score had been amazing as well, considering it was a difficult test.

After all that, qualified means I had been qualified for getting accepted, but not yet officially accepted. I knew I had to try harder and give it all I got. Since the school is part of Houston Independent School District and I was from another nearby district, that made me, an out-of district student. What does this mean? It means that I would be considered in Phase 3, which the school barely ever picks from since they already get their seats filled up pretty quickly. That hadn’t stopped me, though.

I picked it up notch with my visualizing, feeling, and gratitude. Every time I woke up, I had expressed gratitude to my parents and for all the things that I have in my life. I kept visualizing my parents telling me I got officially accepted and much more. Even when I walked into my current school, I would imagine I was walking into Carnegie Vanguard. I also had my best friend who had applied there as well. We would tell each other all the the time of how grateful we were of getting into Carnegie and of our to be new life there. So I kept doing this consistently. The beginning of May started to roll around and I still had an unwavering faith in The Secret to help me accomplish my goal.

So just a couple days ago, my parents got an email saying I was officially accepted into Carnegie Vanguard!!!!!!!!!!

I truly have never felt a stronger connection with the Universe till then. I was exuberant, my head filling with thoughts of, “Who are going to be my new friends,” and “What classes am I going to take” and so much more!! I just can not express my gratitude in words, not even one single adjective to describe how I really felt!!!

Everyone always says, “Wow, you’re 14, and you already know The Secret.” I would just reply back with a smile, because I knew that I had been destined to have The Secret and to live a long life of happiness with it, in my knowledge.
