I used to be sceptical about the LOA and The Secret which I read years ago and decided was not for me. However, my experiences over the last few years have convinced me entirely, and I now make a daily practice of expressing gratititude, visualisation of my desired outcomes and raising my internal energy vibration.

Three years ago I accepted that I was suffering from untreated alcoholism and addiction. Consequently I lost my physical and mental health, was forced out of my business partnership and eventually bankrupted. My life, relationships and finances were in tatters. With my wife’s unwavering support I accepted help for my illness and worked hard to get clean and sober.

In the three years that I have been clean and sober, my eyes have been opened. I gradually adopted the practices outlined in the book and have experienced many wonderful results; including finding a job after seven months unemployed and my youngest daughter receiving an unsolicited scholarship for the fee paying school that we would no longer afford to pay for. However the most remarkable event occured during the last two weeks.

In January we were unable to pay the mortgage on our family home due to my income being half what we need to survive. Having already borrowed to the limit from friends and family, it seemed likely that the bank would take action to repossess our home.

At that point I reached a crossroads of despair! However, instead of feeling overwhelmed I asked the universe for guidance and then made a simple decision based upon the joy I felt about living in our home.

I immediately felt certain that I would find a job paying twice my current salary, be interviewed and receive a job offer within two weeks. This is despite record unemployment and a severe economic downturn here in the UK and my record as a recovering alcoholic addict!

By visualising my desired outcome, expressing gratitude for what I already have and expect to receive, asking the universe for guidance and taking action I am now awaiting the outcome of two jobs for which I have been shortlisted and a 3rd opportunity within my current company.
