The Secret came into my life last Christmas, 2007. A good friend of mine was going through financial and relationship troubles. I have never seen him so depleted, so low… it was like life was draining him. Well, after 3 weeks of his depression, one night he came to me a different man. I have never seen him so full of life, full of energy, it was like he was on top of the world. I asked him what happened to change his demeanor and circumstance. This is when he introduced The Secret into my life. He spoke about how it transformed him. He asked, believed, and received money that took him out of debt, and renewed relationships that invigorated him. The book was his gift to me. I had no idea how this book was to change my life, as well as reaffirm some of my beliefs.
High school were the worst years of my life. My peers disliked me, there were vicious rumors spread about me ruining my reputation, I felt unloved and started to feel that I should not exist. In my moment of desperation I saw a vision. In that vision I saw myself spreading love, giving, sharing, giving empathy to others. I knew at that moment that I could choose my life. Choose to love or hate.
I began to see myself empowered, to believe in myself no matter what. I have this saying that I’m famous for amongst my friends, family, and students. “Each day is a new day full of possibilities, live it with all its possibilities.”
Since reading The Secret I have asked for checks in the mail and received. $50, $200, $1,500, and more. I asked that by the end of one month I would receive $25,000 dollars, and I did. I asked to be accepted into a doctoral program at a prestigious university and I was, even though I did not know how I was going to afford or how it would be happen. I told myself to believe and the universe will find a way. Within a matter of 3 weeks I was accepted and granted money from the government, and a scholarship from the university to pay for my tuition.
Each day I am grateful for all that I have and all that is coming. I am grateful because I know that I will receive all that I have wished and ask for. I must continue to believe and believe and believe.
So, don’t be afraid to dream. Dream big, visualize everything you’ve ever truly wanted. Believe you deserve it and that it is yours. Don’t worry about the how. I’ve come to learn that the universe will work it out, and most of the time it comes so easy in alignment. DREAM, ASK, BELIEVE.
Thank you for the writing the book, and for the movie… it has brought so much joy into my life.
