Delhi, IndiaExploring the beauty of life every day.
Dear Friends,
Good afternoon. Four years ago, I had to quit my job. I was six months pregnant then. I loved my job but could not continue because I worked for nine hours in the office and had started losing weight instead of gaining it. A few months later, the Universe blessed me with a healthy baby who came into my hands a month before the actual due date.
My whole world changed! I was not aware that the transition from a career oriented woman to a new Mother would be so huge. I wanted to do everything for my little one to take care of her. I never had an idea how to understand the unspoken words of such a tiny and cute little wonder. We both started our journey as mother and daughter four years back, and I have enjoyed every day of my life with her.
Somewhere inside me, I was getting a nudge from the professionally successful woman in me who wanted to get back to her office life. I felt such deep gratitude inside and knew that it was not possible for me to leave my baby alone till she started to learn to communicate and express her needs and fears. I decided to start looking for suitable opportunities to earn when my little one turned three and a half years old.
I started a business that failed, and in less than a year, I had to make the decision to close it. But I knew that being thankful for small things and even failures can bring about miraculous changes in one’s life that seem impossible otherwise.
I had a gap of four years in my career, which caused me to constantly get rejected in my interviews. It was imprinted in my mind that I would never have a job again or maybe start all over again as a fresher. I started affirming that I would soon get a good job and a decent salary. I subscribed to inspirational quotes that would be mailed to me every day.
After getting rejected in one of the interviews, I read on a wall some bold words, “Do not quit.” I went to my maternal parents’ house to take a break for a few days. I gave them love and all the attention they deserved for having nurtured me to this state in my life. When I returned back to Delhi, I saw an email for an interview call. This company had a five day work week, and the salary was decent. I got the job very easily, and they were impressed with my skills!! It worked!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
When I was returning from my parents’ house, one of my childhood house helpers’ daughters asked me if she could come along with us to Delhi and offered to take good care of my daughter. I had known her for many years, so I agreed. So you see, everything was falling into place perfectly! Success came to me after numerous failures. This is reality. So it is important to be thankful every day and not quit. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Note: Special thanks to my Husband, whose role I have not mentioned in this story, but in one word, he is my backbone.
