Thank you to Rhonda and The Secret team in your efforts to brighten up the lives of others. I am hoping that my story will inspire someone as well.

My story starts a few years ago. I was fresh out of high school and me and my boyfriend of 1.5 years  had just broke up. It was my first break up and he was my first love so I felt as if the world had ended. I was on summer vacation and due to my devastation I decided to spend it in bed. I was not eating, I was just sleeping which was not normal for someone who had just finished high school and was on vacation. A few days later my ex told me that he had moved on and was happy, and that destroyed any chance I had of us getting back together, but now I understand that it was a blessing in disguise.

When the new year came, I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself. I told myself that everything was going to be okay. I said that as often as possible until I started believing it. I made an effort to feel good and feel grateful and blessed until it became effortless. The year that followed was simply magical.

In February I applied for a student loan to study at University and then something amazing happened. Due to my great results the previous year, the University gave me R30,000 back to spend on whatever I wanted and that meant a shopping spree to me. I didn’t even ask the Universe for money but somehow all my needs were being tended to without me even asking.

Mid-year my cellphone had technical issues so I took it in to the service provider who notified me that they had to send it to the manufacturer for repairs and that it would be at least a month until I got my cellphone back. A week after I sent my cellphone in, the service provider called me to pick up my phone. It turns out that the manufacturer decided to give me a brand new phone! The lady who attended to me was astonished and could not believe how quickly the manufacturer responded to me or that they gave me a brand new cell phone! She could not stop telling me how lucky I was! Ha ha!

Since I got a brand new cell phone, I decided to buy a new cover to protect it. When I went to the counter to pay for it, the card machine wasn’t working and I didn’t have any cash on me so the owner decided to give it to me for free!! My sister who was with me at the time, could not believe my great luck.

All in all, that was the best year of my life. I mentioned some of the highlights above but the truth is that the list goes on and on. Every single day is still magical.

The lesson I learnt from The Secret and applying The Secret, is that all you have to do is make an effort to feel good and be grateful. The Universe will answer your every desire without you even asking for it or before you realise that you want it.
