A little thing, but a big inspiration…

Northern New JerseyI am a divorced, single mother with two beautiful daughters. My family is my first priority and they are truly a blessing.
I recently read “The Power”. Admittedly a skeptic, the stories and advice given in this book were inspirational. I decided to take a baby step and apply it in my life. I am a divorced single mother who immediately got into a ten year relationship with a man after my separation. It has been two years since the end of that relationship and I have had no desire to get out in the dating scene.
It so happened that a dear friend of mine wanted to fix me up with a patient’s son. I reluctantly agreed and we started e-mailing and spoke on the phone. He ended up asking me out and I accepted. Truth be told, even though I accepted, I was scared out of my wits because I had so many self-doubts. I decided to try some advice from “The Power”.
Even though it felt silly, I texted myself a message that I pretended would come from my intended date the next day. It said that he had a nice time and asked me for a second date on the weekend. I ended up taking a deep breath and meeting him that night. I pushed down all of my self-defeating thoughts that normally would have convinced me to cancel and dared to expect a nice night.
Well, it turned out to be a very enjoyable time, and at the end of the night, he asked me to go out to dinner on the weekend! This is only a very small start to the amazing potential of “The Power,” and I am excited to tap into it and live my life to its fullest in all areas.
