As immigrants to England, my family believed in safety and security through hard work and that life was about being dutiful to your family, settling down, and being a responsible and respected member of the community, living like everyone else. I always dreamed about and believed that there was something more, something bigger

I know that The Secret works.  I have created what I wanted a number of times, and now having turned 50 and never having been married, I was using the same tools and powers to meet a wonderful husband. This is my journal at the end of the year.

What an incredible year I’ve had! I have received so many blessings in my work and in my life this year, and I am truly grateful for them. I have had so many successes to be thankful for. Everything has worked out for me better than I had even imagined. I am really happy! I wake up happy, I spend the entire day doing exactly the things that I want to do. Things that excite me and fulfill me and I have been extremely well rewarded. I fall asleep happy.

I got to go to some of the places I have wanted to go to for a long time. Firstly, to Bali for a 3 week’s vacation where I was able to do yoga, eat well, read, and rest and I went on a lot of hikes. It was a beautiful, magical, truly wonderful, and memorable experience.

I got to stay in a beautiful villa in Utah and I learned to snowboard for a month. Then I spent 10 days at the Miraval Spa Resort in the most beautiful suite trying every activity and treatment available. At night I would just sit by the fire. How lucky am I?!

What has also made the year so incredibly special is that I finally got married! Yes me, the girl that no one thought would ever settle down.

I met the most wonderful man out of the blue. He literally just walked into my life out of nowhere. We first met in through my work, and we just hit it off straight away. He was kind, easy to talk to, a great listener, thoughtful, open, and adventurous. He just had this charisma, and this energy that I was just so drawn to, and of course, he was also incredibly charming and good looking. From day one we have not stopped talking. This is a man that enjoys life, has been very successful in life, and knows what he wants in life, yet so humble, so kind and so much fun to be around. In the beginning, we just laughed a lot and talked about the things we had done and the things we still wanted to do. We share a love of books, learning, and seeking new adventures. Then 4 weeks later we were engaged!!

It felt so right in my heart. At the end of the year we got married at the beach at the hotel I always knew I would be married in, with a small group of family and friends gathered around us. It was a perfect day, with the most beautiful sunset.

I love waking up to this man and I am excited to wake up to this man for the rest of my life. Our adventures in life are now done together and I have never been happier. He loves me with all his heart and his kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness is never-ending. I am so happy and grateful to have met him. I knew that whoever I married, he would be worth waiting for and this man was worth waiting for!

So never give up the hope that anything that you truly want will happen. Because when you believe it, anything can happen.
