A ₹150 Copy That Changed My Life.

Pune, IndiaHi, I’m Sruti, a UX designer, life coach by hobby, and an entrepreneur. I co-own a premium fitness studio in Koregaon Park, Pune called Infinity and run support groups for those without access to therapy. I also help brands grow through social media strategy and business consulting. Passionate about design, mindful living, and community-driven impact. I am a giver, I receive abundance from the universe and give it out to everyone around me.
I want to share my story because if even one person reads this and finds hope like I did, it’ll be worth it.
A few years ago, I was in a very different space in life. I had lost my mother, the most grounding figure in my life, and I was working a regular 9-to-5 corporate job. It was the middle of the COVID lockdowns, and everything felt stagnant. The world was paused, and so was my spirit. I had no real direction. I drank, I smoked, I distracted myself. My relationships were toxic, my dreams were buried, and I felt like I was just floating through life, surviving one day at a time.
One day, while walking through the streets of Colaba in Bombay, I came across a roadside stall selling books. Something nudged me toward a slightly worn copy of The Secret. It was priced at just ₹150. I remember thinking, “Is this even an original?” But something deeper inside me knew it didn’t matter. Even if it was xeroxed, the words inside were still Rhonda Byrne’s, and that was enough.
I had heard so many people say this book had changed their lives. So I bought it, not fully knowing it was about to change mine, too.
As I read The Secret, I began to realise something simple but powerful: The Secret is me. It’s in my thoughts, in my choices, in my ability to bring my desires into reality. The words helped me shift from a place of confusion to one of clarity. I began small, with affirmations, little visualisations, and truly feeling what I wanted. I did not know the “how”, I just knew the “what” and believed that it was already mine.
I had always wanted to be a business owner, to be in a relationship that felt like a safe space, to heal my bond with my family, and to feel respected by others and by myself. Slowly but surely, these desires stopped being wishes and started becoming my reality.
Today, I’m proud to say I co-own Infitnity, one of the most premium fitness studios in Koregaon Park, Pune. My life partner is also my business partner, something I had always dreamed of. Now I am grateful and live every single day. Together, we’re helping people transform their lifestyles and prioritise their health. I also continue to work as a UX designer, manage social media for other businesses, and run support groups for those who can’t always access therapy.
I’ve quit smoking. I’ve quit drinking. I’ve become someone I respect deeply, a woman of my own principles, living the life I once visualised in silence, a woman my mother would be so proud of.
And the most beautiful part? I’ve shared The Secret with others, friends, strangers, and anyone in pain and watched their lives change, too.
So thank you, Rhonda. Thank you to the Universe. Thank you to that roadside stall in Colaba. That ₹150 book was the most valuable gift I could have ever given myself.
I will continue manifesting, growing, giving, believing, and receiving all my good thoughts.
The Secret isn’t just a book. It’s a way of life.
