The Secret all started for me with a woman who came into my store one day to sell me advertising. I had just returned from a trip out of the country and cash was a definite issue. But she was really nice and we hit it off and talked for some time. I related to her my life’s events up to this time, and she told me she wanted to give me something to listen to. She went out to her car and brought back to me “The Secret” on CD. Told me to just listen to it and she would stop buy next week. No pressure to buy advertising – she understood my situation.

A week later she stops in and asks me if I had listened to the CDs, and I tell her yes. I was captivated, but I hadn’t as of yet put it into practice. So that was a short visit but it seemed like we were long time friends. She shared with me an experience she had just had with her “Secret” dream for life and how near it was to her desire.

So about 2 days later I had spent a good amount of time listening to The Secret, and I am starting to put it into practice. I have a customer come in, it’s a regular customer, and he is not one who cares to spend money if he doesn’t have to. I being someone who can completely understand. His request of me is simple. I run a computer Repair & Sales store and he simply wanted me to copy some information off of a floppy disk onto a CD. He had the floppy and even the CD to copy it to, he just needed me to do it for him. No expense to me except my time. While I am preparing the CD for him I think to myself, “He’s going to ask what he owes me.” I think, “I’m hungry, I don’t have any money for lunch. I want $5.00.” Is it worth $5.00 though? No, I don’t think so.

So I finish the CD for him. He asks, “What do I owe you?” Wow, exactly as I pictured it. I say, “Ehhh, a few bucks.” He turns to his wife and says, “Give him a FIVE.” I was like, wow, “Thoughts become things.” I was convinced.

So the next day I’m fired up. Let’s test this more! My drive to work takes about 30 minutes. I prayed and was grateful for all I had all the way to work. I specifically prayed for customers this day, confident that God would bless me, and that he had already done so, and work would be waiting for me once I arrived.

When I got to work there was work waiting for me – parts I had on order but was told the previous day would be several more days to arrive were there waiting on my desk. People came in all day long, almost to the point that I couldn’t keep up. We took in over a thousand dollars that day alone.

I find when I do all the steps and truly focus and believe what I want will come true, it does. I have completely changed my way of thinking and I am eternally grateful the gracious lady who entered my store that day.
