2 Years: Another Touched Life
I’ve known about The Secret for 2 years now. The first time I encountered it was a time in my life when I didn’t know what to do about my life; I went to Europe in hope to find a job to make my three month break from college productive. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out the way I wanted, and I happened to stumble upon The Secret trailer on YouTube one lazy afternoon.
It blew my mind! I had to watch it over and over again so that all the information could sink in! I wasn’t content with just that, so I did further research on the Law of Attraction, and everything just really overwhelmed me!
I had forgotten until recently that I had written a word document about what I wanted to achieve once I got back from Europe. I looked back at my old files a month ago to clean up my hard drive and what is so amazing is that everything I had written, happened! They happened without me realizing that I had attracted those happenings! I got 2 commercial projects and I lost all the weight I gained while I was in Europe in less than 6 months since I got back.
But that was 2 years ago!
Last year, I had for the first time made a bucket list. And on it was to read The Secret. I remember it took me days just to finish one chapter. That was how overwhelmed I was by everything that I read! I couldn’t believe that I was the “Michelangelo” of my life–the David I was sculpting was me! I had to read one paragraph several times to fully grasp everything.
I remember when I finished the book: I was at my mom’s province in Leyte. We had a week off from college, and I remember I wanted an iPad so bad at the time! Most of my friends in school had one, and I really, really wanted one! I had the money to buy it, but I felt it wasn’t right to spend so much on a gadget. So upon finishing The Secret, I chose to attract it. I remember I told all my siblings that mom would get me an iPad and I would constantly thank my mom for an iPad, and she would just laugh and shake her head at me obviously thinking I was delusional. I knew what she was thinking, and she knew I knew what she was thinking, haha! But that didn’t stop me.
I would always intentionally feel what it was like to be an owner of an iPad and I would picture myself holding it and checking out blogs and write down notes with it in classes and stuff.
A few weeks later, someone added me up on BBM that I didn’t know personally. However, I accepted, and we started to chat and eventually became friends. One evening she mentioned she read something I had posted on my Facebook wall about wanting an iPad. Then guess what! She said she had an iPad on a shelf that had been collecting dust, and that she would be more than happy to give it to someone who would use it–me!!! She tried giving it away to her cousin, but she didn’t want it either. And in less than a week, we met up and she gave the iPad to me! How amazing is that!?!
I have used my iPad almost every single day since I got it. I love taking down notes with it, and I do check out blogs a lot. In fact, I’m using it right now while I type this story! Truly, all you have to do is to BELIEVE. And don’t forget: Be grateful! Always, always, always be thankful!
But that was a year ago!
What I have recently “attracted” is still beyond me! Before I reveal what “it” is, let me explain that last April, I had become single for the first time in 6 years! Since then, I wasted time dating different douchebags. And after 4 months of that, for the first time, I was 100% single. I had been reading many stories here on the site, and decided to write my own “My Dream Man” article. I wrote down EVERYTHING I wanted in my dream man: from the way he handles arguments to how he is a good example to my younger brother to having the sweetest smile ever. And I’m sure you’ve guessed it: I did meet him. We’ve dated for exactly 2 months today, and seriously, I believe he is every woman’s dream man!
My sister and friends keep on telling me how much of a great guy he is. And honestly, he is so MUCH MORE than I ever imagined to find in a man. I didn’t know that the person I described in “My Dream Man” actually existed. To me, that was like the 101% perfect man… And this guy I am now dating is even MORE than that. Everyday I thank God for him. He really is a blessing to my life.
Ask, Believe, and Receive! And don’t forget, have a grateful heart at all times. God loves giving to those who are thankful. What father wouldn’t love to give a child who is always grateful — even for the smallest of things?
And lastly, thank you SO MUCH, Rhonda Byrne for The Secret and The Power! I’m sure they have touched many lives as much as they have touched mine.
