After reading The Secret recently I put out to the universe that I wanted to be the recipient of and would be very appreciative and grateful for unexpected money. I printed out the check from the site and filled it out. I also purchased a ticket for the mega millions drawing to be drawn the next night. I put my wish out to the universe and believed that I had done what was necessary to be a recipient. I was then and am always grateful for anything that comes my way. It turns out that I did not win anything in the lottery I had bought tickets for, but instead of feeling as if The Secret didn’t work I came to the realization that earlier in the day I had drained my savings account at one bank to transfer the entire amount to my new bank. I took the funds, in the bank’s envelope, to my new bank. I handed the envelope over to the teller with my deposit slip. She took the money out, including the small amount of change that was in there and counted it out. She smiled at me and handed back to me a single quarter. It didn’t occur to me until much later in the evening that I had received. It wasn’t the amount I had asked for so it didn’t readily come to mind. I had received a small token of all that the universe had to offer. It only made my resolve stronger. This is one of many signs of the power of positive thinking and how strong the pull of good will truly is. I am so excited to see what else is to come and I am grateful for all of it, large and small.
