Focus On What you Want, It Will Come!

Halton, Ontario32 yr old, wife and mother of 3.
I was pregnant with my 3rd child when my husband and I realized we needed a bigger house and started to look for something suitable for our next move. We always said that we wanted things differently to how we already had them; we made a list: laundry room on the main floor, bathrooms for each child, bigger kitchen, door to the garage, parking for 2 cars and mainly a bigger backyard.
To our surprise, my husband came upon a new home sales office where an investor had decided to sell his home before he even built it, on a huge lot with EVERYTHING we wanted. We jumped at the chance, it was too perfect. We paid our deposit up front, upgrades, and the premium for the extra large lot, a total of 80K.
Our current home was put up for sale and we thought it would sell quickly. We did not expect the housing market to CRASH!
The new house was under construction still so that bought us 6 months. For those who have children and a husband never home – you’ll understand the stress of keeping it in “show” condition every hour! 5 months of showings passed, although depressed, we never lost hope for the new house- we visited it each and every Sunday and took pictures of the progress for our vision wall. I cried every night, got anxiety attacks and was very depressed. I kept referring to my vision wall. I put on music (Bob Marley – 3 little birds and sang at the top of my lungs, “don’t worry about a thing – every little thing is gonna be alright” all the while trying to stay happy around the kids.
We needed to sell because we needed the money for the MUCH bigger mortgage right? …. wrong! Our Miracle came 2 weeks before the new house closed, a friend offered to help. As a Bank Manager they were able to authorize a mortgage for the new house, providing we kept the current home as a rental/ income property. That was it…. we packed, found renters and moved in the next 2 weeks.
My error lay in my focus of selling the house to get to the next step of owning my new one, My focus should have simply remained on the new house itself- it wasn’t up to me to determine the process of how to get there, it was the universe that was to bring it to me in the way it was meant to unfold.
If you believe it, you will achieve it.
…. my next goal is to furnish this big’ol house now!
BACK TO THE VISION BOARD.
