I had to bring my son to the clinic to have him checked for rashes and spots appearing in his hands and mouth. Knowing his hesitancy to go to the doctor and the uncomfortableness of this clinic since it is situated in a not-so-pleasant environment, it would not be easy for me as I would be taking him by myself. I predicted earlier that we would go and he already showed signs that he was scared. While driving to the site, I kept praising him for being so brave the last time he was confined because of dengue. I knew that helped him calm his nerves and it became easy for us to reach the clinic.

Upon arriving, the clinic was jump packed with kids and their parents so we had to wait outside where it was too hot and uncomfortable. I was worried if he could stand waiting for even just 10 minutes. Luckily I brought a mini fan to ease the heat and while trying to help him out, all I did was say thank you for the fan, thank you that he kept himself calm, and thank you that he can sustain our situation until it was our turn to go in.

One hour passed by and I was still saying thank you repeatedly and I imagined that our name was called next. A door opened and the doctor came out to pee and she recognized my son. After 2 more patients, we were called. He came in without hesitation and was calm. It took us just 5 minutes and doc said she had to call us in first because she knew my son’s situation. FYI, the first time she saw him she had to go to our car for the check-up. This is just her 3rd time seeing him. I was so surprised by this development but knew that it was because of gratitude and faith that made it all possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
