This one’s going to be long but I promise you that it is going to be worth it!

In September of 2019, I became pregnant with our first daughter, and right away my husband and I started to look for a house. We were living in a 700 sq foot 1 bedroom 1 bathroom house and had spent years saving for a down payment.

Flash forward a few months later and it was March 2020. Covid had just hit the world by storm, and house prices in Las Angeles were skyrocketing at an alarming rate. I am 9 weeks away from giving birth and still, we had no luck finding a house.

Finally one day, a new listing pops up and just by looking through the photos I knew it was the one! The second we walked in, I felt this energy wash over my body and I looked at my husband and we both just knew. This was our dream home. Right away we put an offer on it and waited. A week later our agent calls us to say that we did not get the house and sellers have chosen another offer and picked us to be their “backup offer”.

I was devastated. I could not believe it! I cried all day, with some help from my pregnancy hormones, haha! Then I cried some more after the agent told us to keep looking and give up on the other house as there was 0% chance that the first buyers would drop out of escrow. Since they had removed all contingencies, they were pretty much locked into that contract!

Here is where the law of attraction and The Secret comes in!!!! I told my husband I am not giving up, that the dream house was my house, and that it belongs to us and our unborn daughter. I started writing about living there and would say the address out loud as if it was mine. We drove by it 9 times in one week and I would picture us driving home from the hospital with our new baby and parking in that driveway greeting the family. I pictured cooking in the kitchen and playing with our baby in the backyard, and the whole time my husband was pushing me to go look at other homes and that we are running out of time and I am refusing. I just kept saying, “I have already found our dream home.”

Well, lo and behold, 2 weeks after being told that the sellers had accepted another offer, we get a phone call from our agent and she said, “Laura I do not know what happened but the buyers have dropped out and the sellers are asking if you are still interested in buying the house!!!!!”

We opened escrow the next day and in less than 2 months we will be celebrating 3 years of living in our dream home. Every day, I look around my home and I am still amazed at the power of the law of attraction!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
