Hi.

Well, my partner and I had come home after travelling, and to say funds were a little short is definitely an understatement. So we decided to get our finances in order, but finding this more and more difficult as rent in Ireland is very high. I was looking over our finances trying to see how we could get out of this to get ourselves on the property ladder, but no matter what way I looked at it, we were going to be in our 50s by the time it was all sorted.

By chance my partner picked up The Secret book for me for my birthday, having seen scientists mentioned on the side (I am one) and thinking I would find it interesting. Little did he know!
When I finally got around to reading it, to say I was blown away doesn’t even describe it.

So I started changing my view of money, paying myself first in my wages, and even filling out the cheque and putting it in my wallet, my partner’s wallet, and on mirrors in the house.
But months passed and still nothing. I was trying not to lose hope but I was finding it difficult.

So I re-read portions of the book and it hit me – I was asking for money but what I really wanted was a home. So I put up pictures of homes around my place. Again months passed and still nothing.

Then one day I was out shopping and I saw this ornament which I had seen around and really loved. I loved the sentiment and the colours. When I saw it I always thought, when I have my house I will put that on my mantle and I will paint my sitting room those colours. So I decided to buy it, thinking, I am buying this for my home… that I have.

3 months later I got the keys to my home. And guess what? The house was already painted those colours.

So all you have to do is believe in whatever way suits you. I needed something physical to believe, but it worked.

I’m engaged now and getting married next year; we have only a portion saved, so now I’m focusing on getting married and know the money will come.
