I take a long drive to work a couple of times a week along the lakeshore of Chicago. The work I do is very busy. I am constantly going, running errands for other people, and taking care of my dad in my home. Sometimes the lakefront is the only peace and serenity I get to see. So my desire is to just walk the beach some days and not drive past it.

The other day a friend asked me if I would walk with him since he’s had two hip surgeries and he needs to walk. I told him this is exactly what I wanted to do. We met after work, and we started walking at 67th St., walked down the hills, over the roundabout, around boats over to the beach, and then decided to head back. I thought to myself how much joy I feel just taking that simple walk. My hands were swollen, but I felt great. The walk made me so happy to see the beauty of the lake.

When we got back to my car I noticed I didn’t have my keys. He patted his pockets and only had his keys. We didn’t know how we would begin to find keys over the large space we covered. We decided to just start walking back over the path we had taken, which was quite a long path. I immediately began thinking I’m going to find my keys. I want to be the one to find my keys. I thought it better if I find my keys than someone else, because they may have returned them to the police, or the lifeguard, or someone at the boat dock and I would never know which way to go. I also sat in the sand at the beach and this is where I thought I’d find them but this was the furthest point away. We walked a good distance down the hill, around the roundabout, and back toward the boat dock.

As I continually kept thinking that I wanted to be the one to find my keys, we approached the boat dock where we sat down the first time. There was a black hump near it. I began to point and say repeatedly, those are my keys, those are my keys, as if I was manifesting the item that I wanted. It was still a good distance away. The person that was with me is normally very negative in everything he speaks. He chose not to speak to me because I always tell him to say what he wants.

Two things happened that day. Those were my keys! And, he saw the power of positive thinking create, what to him, was a miracle! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so grateful and so happy for getting The Secret series of books. I have sent them to everyone and he was one of the first people I sent one to. I have my keys, and he gained confidence in gratitude!
