I had been working in a healthcare company for more than 10 years. I wanted to leave because the work culture and environment had become hostile and in addition to that, the salaries for the staff were not that good. Anyway, having read The Secret many years ago, I dusted off my book and started reading it again.

I started visualizing the type of work environment that I desired. One that was filled with respect for the staff and that treated everyone as an equal. Mind you, these days I pick up The Secret or The Power to read whenever I feel upset or sad and I always feel better and happier afterwards.

I started applying seriously for jobs in 2021. I took my annual leave in October 2021, and I got an online job in November 2021. I did it along with my full time job at the healthcare company.

While still searching and applying, I was invited for an interview on the 20th of November 2021 with a multinational company from one of the big Asian tiger countries. Lo and behold, the way I was received by the M.D and the other panelists made me feel valued and respected. I fell in love with the company. I was informed that out of the 30 applicants, I was the preferred one. We negotiated the same salary I had wished for and I am on my 3rd month on the job now.
