LET IT BE
Submitted by: SR
Middle EastI am married to the most wonderful man who I intended to be my husband, and we have together created two beautiful, charming, and healthy cherubs, my twin daughters. THANK YOU BABA, THANK YOU DAD, who I know for sure has become our family's Guardian Angel, and THANK YOU RHONDA! God Bless You.
Words from the famous John Lennon song: “When I find myself in times of trouble LET IT BE.”
Feb 10, 2008: Like many others, at my lowest ebb, pleading to heaven above to throw me rope, I drew “The Secret” into my life.
Feb 11, 2008: I was a peaceful soul full of hope, love, and faith with the ability to understand, accept, and let the past be and create a fantastic future for myself with renewed joy & anticipation. Yes, call by any name, Mother Mary, Krishna, Allah, Jesus or my Guru, Guide and Savior Shirdi Baba (a famous Indian Saint), the Universal Source answered my request and made me see the light.
Being a Hindu by birth, since childhood we are told the story of one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu called Narashimha; an avatar that has a human body with a lion’s head. The story goes like this: a young prince called Prahlad was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, and was totally disliked by his evil father, the King, who deemed himself as the god of people. Fed up with his son’s persistence in accepting only the Lord as his God, the King tries many methods to kill the young boy. All his attempts go in vain as the boy is repeatedly saved by some unseen force. At last the king asks the boy where this great God of his resides. The boy replies, “He is there in everything and everything is there in him”. Sneering at the boy’s answer the King in jest asks if he is there in the pillar of the palace. On hearing that GOD resides in pillars, rocks, and in everything within and without, the king kicks the pillar and challenges Lord Vishnu to come out and face him. Lord Vishnu, taking a form of half man half lion, pounces out of the pillar and does away with the evil king.
Why do I relate this story ? Because isn’t this what The Secret says? The Source Energy is within & around us, and faith and conviction can reawaken our link to this universal source.
Since childhood most of us have been brought up hearing stories such as these but how many of us actually LISTEN?
Coming back to my story
Life took a “U” turn and I started exploring the inner me. Came across many beliefs, some of which helped and some that destroyed my dreams and aspirations. Started meditating, and that helped in strengthening my core. Met with many “miraculous” successes, and also had some delays in achieving what I set out to (still learning the “let go” part of the process). Withstood the death of my most beloved father (which had it happened months ago would have shattered and taken me to the depths of depression).
Here I would like to relate an incident that took place when Dad was in hospital. We were all worried as enormous funds were required to meet the hospitalization expenses, and as my dad was a person who kept his financials to himself, we were not in a position to look into his accounts and withdraw. Moreover, I live in another country, and this trip to be with dad had to be made all of a sudden. This meant that I could not source the amount immediately. Normally the company that Dad retired from provides up to 95% reimbursement for the amount spent on hospitalization. But the key word is reimbursement, which meant that we had to shell out the amount immediately. My mother who is diabetic and has BP was extremely worried. One evening while coming from the hospital she was wondering how we were going to manage, and using the LOA process I asked her to tell me what solution would make her feel completely at ease. She said that if the company decides to take over the payments to the hospital that would be the ideal solution. I asked her to take a moment and make a prayer asking for exactly that. Then I asked her to imagine getting a call from the company saying that as a special case they will take care of all the payments henceforth. I asked her how she felt imagining that; she said she felt complete relief. I told her to thank God in that level of gratitude and then STOP worrying as it has already happened. I asked her to remove all traces of worry as this shows lack of trust.
Next morning, a few minutes after reaching the hospital, my brother walks up to my mom and says, “The HR head just called me. She said that the company as a special case has decided to take over all the expenses and we should not spend another penny at the hospital.” Needless to say my mom was shocked as all our previous attempts with the company had been unsuccessful.
After my dad passed on, I made a prayer asking for confirmation that dad’s ok. Many signals came, but one was really a deal clincher. We had to travel to my dad & mom’s home state to do the last rites, and I went to the library to get some books to read while travelling. One of the books I found was called “One Soul Many Bodies” by Dr. Brian Weiss. This book literally blew me away, and I got the answer that not only is my dear dear dad happy, but our journey together definitely does not end in this lifetime.
Of course human nature is such that we need validation at every turn, and just yesterday I put out another request to the universe as a test. As you will be aware, the current global crisis is making many people nervous. I work for an investment firm and there was a lot of unease at the office. I just wondered if my prayers would impact the regional stock markets in a positive manner hmmmmmm. So in the morning as soon as the various regional markets opened I did the following:
1. I prayed that at the end of the day the market will close on a positive note.
2. I visualized my colleague running out of the trading room shouting, “Market closed on a positive!”
3. I felt the excitement, I wrote it in my notepad as if the event had already taken place, and then I LET IT BE.
Now, when I prayed I had thought only of one market – that is the local market and that closes at 1.00 pm. This market closed on a negative note 🙁 I wondered, then thought that maybe I did not intend it enough. Better luck next time. At around 4.30pm I was in the washroom when I suddenly heard my colleague shouting, “The market has closed on a positive note!” Huh?! Did I hear that right???? I ran out and asked my colleague and he confirmed that the last market to close for the day ended on a positive note. I immediately went back to what I had written in my note pad and found that I had written that I am sooooo happy that my prayers have been answered, as “at the END OF THE DAY, the market closed on a positive note.” I did not specify which market, instead I wrote, “end of the day”. Need to be more precise, but WOW! My thoughts even changed the stock market movement. What better proof 🙂
I am a work in progress and continue to learn about this wonderful universal world. I guess that’s the beauty of it.
