Our Dream Home.

Sydney AustraliaMiddle aged woman loving life with her boys and pug.
For the last two years, my hubby and I were looking at getting a bigger house. We had lived in our beautiful little townhouse for ten years and loved every minute of it. But with having two teenage boys, a husband, and just one bathroom, it was becoming smaller by the minute. We loved the area we lived in, but over the years more and more people had discovered our little paradise, and housing prices were getting outrageous. Then February hit this year and the market exploded even more due to the Covid situation. We went to auction after auction, with the houses selling for well over one hundred thousand dollars above their value.
One Saturday we went to see a huge mansion that we knew we knew we could not afford but we went to have a look anyway. There were heaps of people at the open house, so I just walked through it quite despondent. The most amazing part was the pool, it was fabulous. As a swimmer, I saw the pool and fell in love with it. But, I knew it was way out of our reach. I just smiled as we walked around it, and then we left.
The following Monday night I sat down with hubby and over dinner I announced that if we were going to get our dream house, we both had to draw our dream house and write down three things about it. We both said it would be the house that we had seen on that Saturday. We laughed and stuck our little A4 vision boards on our fridge. The next day I was busy at work and it was not until 3 pm that I saw my phone and that I had missed three calls from my husband. I quickly called him and he explained that the real estate agent had called. We had a good relationship with her as we had been looking for so long.
Anyway, she had said to my husband that the guy my hubby had been chatting to at the open house was the owner. She said that he had liked my husband’s attitude about the house so much that he was wondering if we were considering putting in an offer. My husband said we could not afford it, plus our house was not even on the market yet. But! After a lot of phone calls and quick negotiations, we had sold our house and put the only offer in that we could afford.
The owner of the house had other higher offers but because he knew my husband’s situation, he decided to accept our offer! It was truly a miracle! We now live in an enormous, multimillion dollar home with a small mortgage. Plus being in lockdown for the past three months has allowed our little family to get to know the home and all the joy it brings. My husband is a true convert to the law of attraction now. He even tells all his blokey friends that we would not have this house if it were not for The Secret, the law of attraction, and creating a vision board. They laugh and think that’s ridiculous, but we know better.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
