Motivation Was A Reminder.

Cape TownSingle mom of 2 boys aged 13 and 14 years old living with my parents who get a government pension every month. I am full-time employed, love my job. My salary is not where I would like it to be but I am grateful to receive it every month and grateful that I still have a job especially during Covid.
On Tuesday evening I watched the recording of Rhonda’s live Q and A. And a light bulb went off when she said you cannot want a new car and say “My new car is coming”. You have to say that you already have the car of your dreams. Its here in the present. If you say the word ‘coming’ it will always be ‘coming’. Since lock down started at the end of March 2020 in South Africa, I have been working from home. And although it has many advantages like skipping traffic and saving on petrol, these four walls can also drive you crazy. Even though our restrictions were decreased I havent taken a holiday in 2 years. With everything I have been through I have been praying to go somewhere, even just for a weekend. But I live pay day to pay day and never have any extra money so I just couldnt do it. Then last night I thought about what Rhonda said, I shouldnt say, “I would like to go on a holiday.” So I changed my affirmation to “I am going on a holiday before this year ends. No matter where the money will come from I will make a way.” This morning I check my emails and received a letter from my employer advising that I will be receiving share payouts, included in this months salary. And the share amount is enough for me to book my holiday which I did immediately, today, and payment will be made on my salary date.
I couldnt believe it I was smiling so much today being so grateful that it all happened so fast and I can finally take the holiday I deserve after working so hard. And my boys will be so excited. Thank you for the motivation. I read the books and have the apps but sometimes you need to hear it out loud to make that light bulb go off. Thank you.
