Meeting this girl was something else; something I had never experienced in my life. She came into my life at a time when I had many failed relationships, always ending up with people who were just not right for me. I had jotted down a list of qualities that my partner should have, and lo and behold, within weeks, we found each other. We turned out to be incredibly similar, both in terms of interests and values, and it felt like I had always known her.

We got into a relationship soon after, and things were beyond amazing. Neither of us had experienced happiness at this magnitude, and it was something truly blissful. It was almost as if there was this greater force at play, working to bring us together and to keep us together. Things were incredible for a long time until tragedy struck.

She went through a loss, and I had some trouble to fix from my end too. The Covid 19 pandemic lockdown did not help as we could not get to see each other, and things got worse from there. All that magic came crashing down. Every single day things only seemed to get be getting worse. And one day, she ended it, right before she was supposed to move to a different city. Luckily for me, I had gotten an opportunity to move to the same city. It was kind of like reiterating that greater force that somehow made it happen in an otherwise unbelievable situation. However, she was still firm in her desire to walk away. The emotions she exhibited were totally alien to me, and she had turned into a different person from the person that I knew. I kept believing that she would come around because deep down I knew she was the one. I thought that she would be back with me somehow, and even though nothing seemed to suggest this, I still had that belief. However, I was holding on to it too much. I couldn’t do anything else; my health was taking a hit, my focus was all over the place, and I was struggling with even the most basic things. I couldn’t sleep, I barely ate, and things were a mess, except for the belief that she would come back.

One day, I decided that enough is enough. Though deep in my heart, I knew she’d be back, something inside me changed. I didn’t care anymore. I simply did not want her anymore, and I didn’t want to wait anymore. I focused my attention inwards and did things for myself. I let go of everything! I had gathered all the gifts she had given me while we were together, and I threw them all away. I threw away all my manifestation letters, totems, and what not. I blocked her from every possible medium, and I thought if it’s meant to happen, she’ll find a way to reach me. I let go of her in the truest form of the word. I focused on my work, on my health, and treated myself to everything good. I got on dating apps and started going out for coffee dates. Even though my intuition told me she would be back and that I should wait, I just decided to let it go anyway, and trust the Universe to do what’s best for me.

Within a month of doing this, and with barely any thoughts of her in my mind, I got a call from a familiar number on the new device I had purchased. I knew it was her, and assuming it was a drunk call because it was late at night, I let it go. And then it hit me! The Universe had found a way for her to connect with me since I had forgotten to block her on this new device. Trusting the Universe’s way, I didn’t block her on this new device. At the same time, I kept on living the life I had been living in the last few weeks. I didn’t hold on to her and I let the Universe work its way for me.

Another week and a half went by. I got another call, and then another one, followed by a text. It was her. I decided to answer the call that came a few hours later. I didn’t expect much, and just decided to listen to her with an open mind. What started off as a very casual conversation ended up with her confessing to the fact that she still loved me and wanted to be back with me. She mentioned regretting ending things with me and how much she missed me and wanted me back in her life. I was a bit stunned, even though I knew that this would eventually happen. I didn’t know what to say, but she made me comfortable. Her voice was soothing enough for me to melt, and all those emotions came back to me. She asked me if I could meet her that evening, and even though it was late, she said she’d come to meet me wherever I was, and I agreed to it.

We met, and she was wearing a dress I had given her. She looked so happy to meet me and hugged me right as we walked closer towards each other. We sat on a bench, spoke to each other about our current lives, and then, she proposed to me. Even though I wanted to play a bit hard to get, feeling all the hurt that she had caused with the breakup, I couldn’t say no. I said yes right away.

Now we are in a happy relationship, and that magic is now back! Not to mention that our relationship is much more amazing now and we are stronger than ever. She’s right by my side, as I am writing this story, looking at me with eyes full of love!
