PhilippinesMy high school class awarded me "The Ray of Sunshine Through the Rain" prize. I am a Filipina doctor in training. Trying to leave things and people better than I found them.
Hello to The Secret Community! Just sharing my story of how applying the LOA from The Secret has made me a happier person.
The pandemic has been a blessing in my life. Before the COVID-19 outbreak, I lived my life in a carefree manner. The changes that happened gave me the big pause I needed to figure out what I wanted from my life.
I asked God for guidance. One night, I stumbled upon Meg Jay’s Ted Talk, “Why The 30s Is Not The New 20s”. It made me think of how I was living the past 24 years of my life, and where I would want to be in 5 to 10 years from now.
I decided that I would finish my studies in medicine by 2022, and somewhere in between or around that time, I would be marrying the love of my love. I was working on the diploma and was grateful to be living my childhood dream but I had not met the love of my life yet.
When studying medicine, it is so easy to put love in the backseat and just forget about it. But no. God said, “Follow your heart’s desire” -ECCLESIASTES 11:9. Deep in my heart, I knew I wanted to get married to a good person and to be loved in the highest capacity.
You know those little urges you feel in your stomach when you feel like you should just do something? That’s exactly what I had during school break last April. I had the urge to try online dating!
It was my first time as I used to have reservations about it. Since I was at home and social distancing had become the norm, I figured, why not try online dating with a person from a different country? Wouldn’t it be just the most romantic thing in the world for someone to ride a plane and travel thousands of miles just to be with you?
I prayed for the qualities I wanted in my man. I desired someone who was intelligent but humble, attentive, respectful, romantic, handsome, taller than my father who is 6ft, financially secure, had a nice job, had a house of his own, only had 1 or 2 male siblings, and wait for it! A mother who passed away a long time ago. Funny but you get the point. I had a clear vision of the kind of love I wanted. Also, I always wanted to have twins, so I said if I meet a man who has a twin then that’s the one for me. I wrote all this down.
Vòila! I am in a relationship with a man with the exact same things I prayed to God for! It’s just super amazing! I am so grateful. He has all the qualities I required in a man. He is 6″3’ft, and I call him handsome! He is an engineer working for a company in the UK. He has a home in Scotland. His family is just as I described them to be. He has 2 brothers, one of whom is his twin!
On my 25th birthday, he gave me a beautiful ecard with 25 things he liked about me, and he had 100 roses delivered to my home! If not for travel restrictions he would have been here a long time ago.
I am just so thankful that I chose to view things in a positive light and respond in an optimistic way. It changes things. If not for this pandemic, we wouldn’t have found each other.
I am currently visualizing him moving here to the Philippines, eventually getting married, and having our beautiful twins! I will surely write about it here someday.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
