I Got Into My Desired College!
Submitted by: Letícia J.
PortugalHi, I'm Letícia. I knew about The Secret when I was a teenager but right now I'm using it to the fullest!!!
Firstly, I am very grateful for the author of The Secret book, Rhonda Bryne!! Thank you very much, it completely changed my life!!!
I was abroad for 7 years and it was very difficult for me. I was forced to stop being a child at 11 years old. I was constantly suffering from being bullied, depression and anxiety because people just didn’t accept the fact that I was different. In short, I felt like I was in prison.
When I finally returned to my country in 2019, the most difficult part was readaptation. I did not have enough clothes and I got sick because of the cold. People in my circle ignored me and did not seem to care about me. The part-time job I had was stressful, tiring, and just increased my depression. Not to mention that besides working, I was also studying in high school to take the national exams to enter a public college.
I took the national exam and in the end, my results were very poor. I failed the same test two times in a row and on the other test I passed but with a very poor result. I remember crying a lot on the eve of the exam because I was so anxious. The sad part was that I was one of the best students in high school while I was abroad.
I was placed in a low profile public college in a course I did not want to be in at all. I had 2 options:
- Go to this public college with a poor reputation and take a course that I did not like but having my tuition be much cheaper and not taking the nationals exams anymore. Or,
2. Go to a private college and take the course I wanted, but pay a very expensive price and take the national exams again.
Most would choose the first option, but I chose the second.
I remember that in my first days at college, a teacher said that it was almost impossible to pass the national exam with good grades and at the same time, get good grades in college. It required too much studying to do both well. Many of my colleagues dropped out during the year, others only took the first semester and in the second semester, they dedicated themselves to studying for national exams.
I had learned about The Secret and so I completely changed my habits. I started meditating and writing in a gratitude journal every day, saying positive affirmations and I created a vision board.
Right now, I am proud to say that I am living proof that someone can do well in college and pass the national exams with high marks! I was one of the best students in the first year of the Engineering course at the private college and I entered the best public University for Engineering in my country!
For others who are in the same situation or something similar, I just want to tell you not to give up. Do not, in any way, doubt the Universe. Nothing is impossible! You can make it !!!
